GATURRO: The world revolves around Gaturro! At least here in author Nik’s comic strip.
REX MORGAN: Mork & Mindy….I mean Buck & Mindy name their baby girl! NSI just stumbled over this Rex Morgan/June Gale story and the section about creator Nicholas Dallis’s Mission is an interesting read:
MARY WORTH: Jan made a good point yesterday re soccer, and I concur that the bonding between Zak and Wilbur might be more believable over baseball or football. However, I live in So. Fla. USA, where Spanish is spoken almost as much as English and soccer is a big deal with a lot of folks in this area. Fort Lauderdale here in So. Fla. had a MLS team for several years and is about to get a new stadium and a new MLS team. I don’t know about the prominence of soccer in the location of the MW strip, which is “the sedate city of Santa Royale” in what appears to be So. Calif. USA. However, the last I heard, Los Angeles, also in So. Calif., has a Major League Soccer team.
MW, cont.: I do realize that Zak and Wilbur were watching an international soccer game, not MLS. As for myself, I like MLS soccer, but LOVE international soccer and have attended, i.e., been in the stands, for a couple World Cup soccer games and one Olympic soccer game. Yea, Zak and Wilbur!
