What a refreshing change! The wise, professorial sage, our beloved hero, Joel…. is featured!!!!!!!

Joel’s font of knowledge knows no bounds. I wonder what type of pipe tobacco Joel is smoking this morning?

Although it is only a pipe dream on my part, I try to keep believing Joel will be featured again in a weekday arc. Do not get me wrong, I have liked seeing WALT….. but those kids…. something is just “off” and “un-GA-like” about them…. they and the (IMO) creepy doll they cart around… make GA feel like a poor, sci-fi/horror film.

What is the point of whacking the car with the shovel in the 4th panel? He checking to see if it’s ripe?

The curiously country-fied banter is unassisted by the seemingly sage (but not) “editor’s note” slipped into the copyright space.

What’s remarkable is that most of today’s posts are very appreciative of Joel and Rufus. It wasn’t long ago that every time they appeared, somebody would gripe about them. I think it shows how much we disapprove of those silly brats and their Twilight Zone doll.

gardenornament over at Comics Curmudgeon": “In the wonderful world of GA, a near-idiot stating the obvious in a completely unhelpful manner is apparently considered wisdom deep enough to be worth sharing in a newspaper column. Somehow, I’m not surprised.”
