That happened with “Captain Easy” (“Wash Tubbs”), “Popeye” (“Thimble Theatre”), “Steve Roper and Mike Nomad” (“Chief Wahoo”, “Snuffy Smith” (“Barney Google”) and “Winthrop” (“Morty Meekle”). It’s kind of wrong to call this strip “Gasoline Alley” when it seems to be mostly about two dimbulb junk dealers, Joel and Rufus.
