Joel was Emperor of the North Pole.

It’s a fact that hobos did travel like that. Hence the phrase, “ridin’ the rods”.

When I was 10, 11, and 12 I and my buddies would grab the ladder of a westbound boxcar, climb up on top, and ride out about 10 miles to a pond where we’d play all day. After 5 PM the trains would be eastbound, and we’d ride back home.
