The wheel is turning in the wrong direction. The way it is drawn, the water in the stream below would push the wheel clockwise.
Actually the waterwheel is turning correctly. Counterclockwise — the water is running forward and the paddles on the wheel are facing in the right direction to catch the water — thus it is pulling them up the wheel in a counterclockwise direction.
What? No Memorial Day remembrance?
This is the first time I can remember Gasoline Alley not honoring Memorial Day with a special strip….
