What useful information could TikTok actually collect?
Serious question, I don’t use TikTok.
Only American corporations are allowed to do this.
I don’t use TT and don’t care but from what I saw from the aired clips I had one question. How does a congressional committee call in a CEO and accuse and castigate him without evidence of what they say his company is doing?
We have many companies in this country that clearly are endangering individuals and communities. Nobody is demanding them to be lined up and interrogated.
What does villianising tiktok actually do?
Foolish congressman that decided to use TikTok.
You mean like how Facebook, Google, and pre-Musk Twitter spied on US Citizens, had/have former intelligence agents working in key positions, had intelligence agencies meddling, and censored free speech. All social media is trash and TikTok is the biggest cancer of them. It’s just that they’re angry the Intel agencies don’t have access to the sweet data.
“And Costco reminds you to get the 2% not the whole milk like last time.”
Very anti american to allow foreign companies to spy. This, world wide incidentally, spying is an exclusive american right and competition must be stopped at all cost.
Darn! Must admit Mr Varvel’s comic is on point today.
Neither do I. I do not trust anything coming from China…..
OMG! ANOTHER Varvel comic I can’t kvetch about or snark on! Has Gary become a Moderate ? Has he learned that he could get twice the fans if he was like Ramirez who sometimes throws out something critical of the “other” side. Anyway…another GOOD ONE BY GARY!
but Alexa, and all that ilk….
Hilarious that everyone is worried about TikTok while carrying around a tracking device that can listen in on everything within earshot. How many legislators have their tracking device (phone) on while discussing sensitive topics? Wait, let me see what Siri and Alexa think about this issue!
Will the panel also take this CEO to task if TicTok users view (and post) unfavorably towards panel members?
