Remember when the Internet was going to be the electronic community that would bring the people of the world together? Television, Marshall McLuhan’s hot medium, didn’t, but this time… this time has been more of the same. Every savior, from Jesus to the computer, has brought out the best and worst of humanity.
Yeah, Varvie, all those little old ladies with knitting needles and little old men in scally caps running out of the supermarket with carts filled with avocados, kale, and skinless chicken thighs.
a lone Gun nut murders 50 people not a peep from Gary… A bunch of Criminals get together and steal stuff…. its Varvels’ “the world is coming to an end” moment.
I will send the merchants thoughts and prayers ( but I imagine that they are insured )
I fully expect the right wingers to trumpet about crime: That plays to their base… and in fact “law and order” is something they believe at their very core is primary, so it’s not even lying. “Fairness” on the other hand isn’t very high on their list of necessary values.
