She is right. That stupid wall protects us from nothing, but all that money 45 took from the CDC could have been used to protect us from a potential pandemic.
At this point the USA has far more confirmed cases of the virus than Mexico and all of South America combined. Of course there are variables such as how many people are actually being tested, but still, this cartoon is nothing but more fear mongering about immigrants. https://gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6
Varvie, you ignorant {vulgarity-for-promiscuous-individual}.
Here in Indianapolis we have TWO medical schools: the Indiana University School of Medicine, and the Marian University College of Medicine.
We also have a premier school, Ivy Tech Community College, for allied health career students (RN, LPN, Surgical Technologists, Radiologic Technologists, Respiratory Therapists, etc.)
Give somebody a phone call, learn something, and stop the blatant lies.
Typical Varvel. If it’s not a 18° flip on the truth, it’s a non sequitur of amazing proportion. The virus, like most illegals, incoming in on airplanes.
Gary do they have planes in IN? Have you ever been on one? Have you seen one on the TeeVee? They go over walls. Bringing people. People from China. People from Iran. People from places that have the virus and are not Mexico.
Feb 9, 2020 – Construction crews began blasting sites within Arizona’s Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument as part of the construction of President Trump’s border barrier, and the affected areas include sites sacred to Native American groups, according to a congressman from Arizona
Republicans do not car about reality, they want to erect a symbol at great cost.
Texas butterfly sanctuary files emergency restraining order
Feb 12, 2019 – The National Butterfly Center has filed for a restraining order to keep federal border wall through the popular nature preserve — off its property. … “It will destroy spectacular ecosystems and wildlife habitat…"
Dec 27, 2019 – Three years into Donald Trump’s presidency, the U.S. government is ramping up its efforts to seize private land in Texas to build a border wall. … And much of the land along the Rio Grande, the river that forms the border in Texas, is privately held and environmentally sensitive.
Lessee now. COVID-19 seems to be coming in mostly by airplane. So of course Varvel thinks the wall will be protective. I wonder if anybody at all thinks this ’toon makes sense. Except — maybe — Varvel himself.
Even if Trump & Stephen Miller could murder millions of people of color, wouldn’t affect the COVID19’s effects. Though I think they just want them to be removed from their Whites Only Land they want to create here. A dream of a hard core few.
I think you all may be missing the point. Many more cases in US than in Mexico, so clearly those viruses are running south across the border. We need to close the border to preserve health and safety in Mexico!
This (3/6) is the first time I’ve looked this guy’s work; even among right wing cartoonists he’s particularly dumb. The fact that the icons associated with him on the site are W Clinton and (I guess) Romney give a pretty good view of when his political views were calcified. Although he did render John Robert’s bald spot pretty accurately in the 3/6 drawing!

The coronavirus is pouring over our southern border in caravans! Build that wall to keep the bugs out. Walls work!

Wow Varvel, you’re even more detached from the truth than Trump, I didn’t think that was possible.

Typical. There are nearly 90 cases in the U.S. – 2 or 3 in Mexico.
Mexico just might pay for a wall after all.
There, now. Don’t you just feel ashamed?

Oh, I get it! The joke is that you think that she’s actually wrong about that! Hahahahahaha!

Stop voting for lying Republicans, they are too stupid to understand reality.

Of 93 miles of completed border wall, at least 90 or more of that was previously planned repair and replace. Where has the money actually gone?

Six deaths from this virus in Washington State. Please tell us how a wall 1300 miles away would have helped. Also, four were in a nursing facility.

Like many, many, “illegals” in this country, the virus also arrives by airline and decides to stay.

The biggest threat to the health of people is not the virus, it’s the people who have weak immune systems from years of living a sheltered life.
