I suppose it’s futile to ask why our president has to broker a peace deal at all – regardless of who is president. For years now, it seems we are responsible for Israel and making sure nobody hurts them no matter how much they cheat (spy) on us or lie both to us and the Palestinians. Now, I do not support the rocket attacks or suicide bombers or any of the Palestinian violence, but neither do I support the settlements. In fact, I’d prefer if the USwould withdraw all financial support from both sides and say, “Figure it out on your own. After you two have come to a peaceful resolution, we’ll talk support again.” We do not own Israel, and I’d like to think Israel doesn’t own us, so let them take care of themselves.
