He should demand a cookie for respect.

First Jon gives Garfield respect by giving him a hamburger, now Jon once again respects his cat using a cookie. What else will Jon give his cat as a token of respect?

Back when they were in elementary school, I was walking my daughters to school. We came upon this group of older kids. One of them was holding court, boasting about his self-perceived importance. His attitude really grated on my nerves. At one point, seeing us, he said, “I DEMAND respect!” I turned around and said, “Actually, you earn respect…and you have NOT earned yours with that attitude.”

As for me, my favorite cookies are chocolate chip, butterscotch chip, peanut butter, and shortbread.
