It’s not true. And everyone ate their own food? Strange.

When I was a kid, my mom’s family would always have a huge barbecue. They had a tether-ball, horseshoes, and a huge in-ground pool. When the food was served, the gate around the pool was closed & locked for 30 minutes. No matter how much we little ones begged, that was the FIRM rule.

Did Jon just eat a hamburger without Garfield even trying to take it from him?

The whole ‘no swimming after eating’ thing has actually been debunked. The Mythbusters actually tested that theory and successfully busted it.

I guess I never realized Garfield was a cat who loved water and Odie loved baths.

I am sure Jon would find a way even after the half an hour…even MORE if he says “I have a big date with Liz tonight”

Neither swimming nor sitting in a pool made me hungry. I could not be in it for long since I was allergic to the sun (and still am today). It likewise made me feel queasy. #sorryfolks :)
