Not sure if I would say I’ve been in one, but I remember while visiting my grandparent’s parents, while looking at his farm, 4 or 5 chickens escaped from their pen and went wild around the farm. I can’t tell you how long I spent trying to get them back in the chicken pen.

I think I read once that extremely loud noises, such as during a bad severe thunderstorm can cause a type of panic death in whole flocks of chickens.

No, Jon. I am fortunate enough to have never witnessed that. We only have 9 chickens though, so it wouldn’t be all that bad if they did ever stampede.

You want a chicken stampede? Try smacking them in The Legend of Zelda games! (Yes I know they are called cuccos!)

I love rainy and stormy weather.

Much prefer it to sunny days.

Sailor 46—-Catching chickens is really easy with the right tool. On our farm, we had a long stiff wire with a handle on one end, made from bending the wire like on a fly swatter wire handle, & on the other end was the wire curved with a hook shape, to catch the chicken by its leg. Simple & worked great.
