Why not just carry them around? Many people, including several celebrities (NBA stars in particular) wear designer glasses with plate glass just for the look. Jon is just taking it a step further.

@pcolliRe spilling the beans.Don’t think he actually can. Seems Garf’s thoughts are just that. Thoughts.Other characters in the strip have speech balloons, but poor Garf always seems confined to thought balloons.
