Wait till Odie sees it….he will be absolutely devastated. How could you Jon?
It is the classiest thing Jon has in his wardrobe?
Now I understand why Liz left…
That dog on Jon’s shirt looks familar.
Ironically, it’s the most wearable piece in his wardrobe.
Wouldn’t that green tie clash?
Odd that the company that did his first TV special in 1982 was the same one that did specials for “Peanuts” and “Cathy”.
the question is Where did he get this tribute to Snoopy?
Liz can’t argue with this one because Snoopy is the ultimate in good taste and coolness!
Jon is a Joe Cool wannabe.
Has Jon been “snooping” around his wardrobe again?
Love Garfield’s reaction!
Garfield says, please not while I’m having my coffee!
You know, that’s really funny. As long as Jim has been at it, he’s still funny. Thanks, Jim for giving us Garfield!
Maybe a spider shirt?
HAHAHAHA that’s hilarious! Jon, that’s the ONE OF best shirts you have, besides “Dilbert”, and “For Better or For Worse” Farly Shirt.
Go For It, Jon!
Get Colbert to draw the shirt instead.
tomorrow is the 10-year-anniversary of peanuts ending.
Finally Jon got a t-shirt that looks nice (and normal). ^-^
This is a very kind tribute. Today is the anniversary of Charles Schulz death on Feb 12. The last Peanuts strip ran on Feb 13, so perhaps tomorrow might be another tribute strip?
You guys have said it all - there DEFINITELY should be a spew alert in panel 2, though. A VERY fitting tribute to a fellow cartoonist. My only question is, did Jim draw Snoopy, or lift it? I HOPE he drew Snoopy, because that’s VERY well done!
I hope he lifted it, because the reason we aren’t stuck with a cruddy remake of Peanuts now is that Schulz’s family had the decency to not sell off his creation and have somebody else doing it, like has been done with many other strips over the years.
Either way, Bravo Davis.
thanks garey for the context; this one is funny and poignant.
Regarding the tribute A+. However, the real reason Jon hasn’t worn that shirt before is because it makes him look pregnant!
I love it!
Until i scrolled through the comments i didn’t get the tribute reference. Thank you for the explanation. Otherwise i think it could have been funnier if he had heathcliff or hobbes on his shirt… other black and orange felines.
Everyone should have a “Peanuts” T-Shirt.
Perfect for “Minus Garfield.”
Shameless insider trading!
That’s the second time I’ve seen Snoopy in “Garfield”!
Back when Schulz (1922-2000) was still alive, he gave Davis permisson to put the dog in a strip of this cat 14 November 1988 (Garfield sees Snoopy as his reflection in a mirror say that “It’s going to be one of those Mondays”).
Rest in peace, Charles Schultz. So sweet of Jim to do a tribute.
What a great, great, great tribute for Charles M. Schulz. I miss your Peanuts. Davis you’re a genius!!!
RIP Charles Schulz,10 years today
If any on the board make it to Santa Rosa,Ca.
check out the “Peanuts” Museum and
Schulz’s Redwood Empire skating rink next door.
It’s well worth the trip…
Great strip today, Jim!
It’s hard to believe it’s been 10 years.
From the comic that started it all!!!!
Bad Jon, or is this a crossover?
You wanna get sued, Jon? Charlie Brown may be unhappy, but he has great lawyers.
It looks like Snoopy!
Peanuts is one of the best comics ever.Nice shirt,Jon!
Hey, it’s snoopy dog!!
SNOOPY DA GOAT
Not the first time Snoopy was in the Garfield strips before…
Oh, it’s a mystery, Jon. ask Garfield
