Jon has his own sandwich here, and is presenting the chicken leg on a separate plate, tempting Garf with the forbidden fruit, and then immediately turns his back. This lends credence to the theory that cartoonist Jon Arbuckle is a masochist and purposefully antagonizes Garfield so he can enjoy the physical violence he receives, further showing his lack of respect for affirmative consent, as Garfield neither consents to, nor understands he is participating in Jon’s kink.
