Yeah I did that to my dog last time. “Wanna go for a car ride?” Then he sat terrified at the vet. Pretty soon he won’t want to go for car rides anymore. :/
Too bad, they don’t live in Michigan then they could go see ‘Dr. Pol’. Dr. Pol would get a kick out of Fred. Fred might enjoy it more with all the different animals in the waiting room.
Loved the old “Far Side” cartoon. One dog hanging out the car window talking to another dog on the ground:“After we stop at the cleaners, I’m going to the vet to get tutored!” ( hope he got his ears checked too )
Dogs are the only animals that can read a humans emotions on his face. If we are happy, he sees the smile, and he gets happy. If we are fretting about taking him to the Vet, he sees it and starts panicking.

My dogs actually like going to the vets – there’s so many interesting smells in the waiting room. Always pretty keen to get out again though.
