I pronounce it with four syllables. Guess I’d better become more efficient.

Reba McEntire has been known to hit 8 notes while singing a 3 syllable word.

It has to be odd. Ef·fi·cient has three syllables, so of course, it is odd.

And if Efficient had four syllables or two syllables, it would be even – which would still make it odd (for a three-syllable word).

Make sure you put the emPHAsis on the correct sylLAble (has to be said out loud)

As a former elementary school teacher, I remember most children with his level of curiosity and insights, were seldom able to sit still very long.

Just one look … was all it took.

And why is “abbreviation” such a long word?

If it’s ironic that efficient has three syllables, consider the humor in Polonius’ speech about brevity being the soul of wit. ;-) We usually only quote that one line, but it’s contained in a very, very, very, VERY long speech, and that fact is absolutely the punchline.

And there’s no such word as gullible. Look it up.
