It’s the power of CHANGE.
PS: My idea of the good old days is having a young body and modern medicine (or better).
Reminds me of an old Russian saying (but that I can’t verify),
Ah, the good old days, when we were so miserable.
The good old days were when you didn’t have to work every day, but when you had a body young enough to enjoy it.
Political distraction to obscure administrative abuse and corruption…
Hard to believe, but even the Jimmy Years seem like the good old days at this point, Thanks Joe!
“When I was young, it was more important. Pain more painful, laughter much louder, yeah, when I was young.” The Animals.
The reactionary mindset?
Specious argument rarely reaches a clear destination.
The Law of Suboptimality: everything, always and everywhere, is less than it should be and could be.
The good ol’ days are when you (thought you) knew how the world goes.
“These are the good old days…”
“Some day, this will be twenty years ago.”
Have I mentioned how refreshing I think this kid is? People hang onto the past so tightly they aren’t able to enjoy the present.
“The trouble with normal is it always gets worse.” Bruce Cockburn (1983)
I didn’t know Frazz was from Noo Yowk.
The secret to happyness is good health and bad memory.
In 1968 the Mary Hopkins recording of “Those Were the Days” was very popular in colleges. Standing on the threshold of our adulthood we understood that our present days were bittersweet.
It is how we store memories. They tend to get a good gloss and pain removed except for traumatic memories don’t do that.
We’ve really got to think outside of the box to define the New Normal as something completely different.
