campaign adds are wrong. i tried to start a movement to get them banned, but no one would listen to me.

Every patrician politician should have a video camera over their head 24/7. That’s a reality show, plebeians would love to watch.

Actually, I’d be happy as a clam at high tide if they had all the political ads on during reality shows. I prefer not to watch either, and having them in one basket would make it much easier to avoid.

I would happily rewrite the First Amendment to allow banning political advertising on radio and television.This would accomplish three things: 1. People who aren’t interested can toss the flyers and the mail and the newspapers into the trash if they’re not interested 2. Advertising would have to be more rational and less emotional, bringing the country back to sensible debates instead of screaming matches 3. Campaign costs would be much cheaper, since radio and TV are the major expenses, so politicians would be less tempted to sell their souls to Big Moneyed Interests.

As for banning political ads (ideas above), for obvious reasons it will never fly: You guys are forgetting it is the politicians that would be enforcing that rule, at YOUR taxpayer expense. (This is not to say that I support political ads; I just do not support forced censorship at taxpayer expense.)
