Our staff cafeteria at the local hospital was having a bad time. We were in the queue eyeing up the menu when one of my nursing colleagues said, “do you have anything that isn’t actually burned?” She was right. A fair question. And I didn’t we had a burns unit at our hospital.

I actually thought Peter simply enjoyed anything that wasn’t his mother’s cooking.

When I was in college, our dorm had very good food! When I left, I asked one of the cooks for a couple of recipes, and she was overjoyed that somebody wanted them. Of course, I had to reduce the quantities somewhat – the recipes were for 100 servings!

“Just eat it, eat it, eat it, eat it”

Should have named it after the sound it makes when it hit the plate…glop.

If it moves, stick a fork in it!

My alma mater has such an improved cafeteria that they serve truly pleasant meals!

Peter will be back for seconds.

Whatever it is it’s got to be better than his mother’s!
