    Matt Mercer he is not.

Actually given Critical Role’s second campaign ended this past Thursday I find the timing hilarious.

Players need to be careful of what they say within earshot of the DM. It only gives them ideas of what sort of calamity they can visit on the party. (As a former DM, I speak from experience.)

Knowing they were going to die, they probably just got tired of arguing and just decided to Leroy Jenkins.

My husband told me about a D&D room that he created. The group ended up locked in a room, with a button…and a countdown. They quickly figured out that the button restarted the countdown. They tried everything they could think of while one person just kept hitting the button. Finally, they gave up and let it count down…3…2…1…CLICK the door opened! Apparently, when rolling for damage, 2 people died of heart attacks. LOL

I used to DM on GEnie years ago. We had people who came in just to watch. I can’t tell you how many people whispered that I was terrifying them.. LOL!

I played D&D, the original version, way back in the late 1970s/early 80s. My grandson now plays the current version. A good dungeon master will provide enough danger to keep the game engaging while not killing off all of the characters.

They, Jason’s opponents, were hit by a computer virus. It took a byte out of their computer a bit at a time. So they lost.

Played D&D once, many years ago, in my college days. Bored out of my mind, but then I was always more fond of science fiction, and less so of fantasy.

I never understand how this is a meme, who the hell would play with such a crappy GM? You’d think this would be self-correcting in D&D

They spent at least half a day debating whether to enter a particular kid’s dungeon? They have even less of a life than he has.

Another D&D related story – skip if you are bored. One of the things I did when I first got my Monster Manual, was to read it from end to end. It was fascinating. So, when we encountered an old man out in the wilds, I convinced the group to be nice to him. Turns out it was exactly the right thing to do. He was a ancient Gold Dragon in disguise. He gave us some good counsel, a few (not overly powered) magical weapons and a nice cup of tea. If we had decided to attack instead of be nice, we would have been wiped out.

I was playing Dungeons and Dragons with a friend a while ago, and one of the situations was like this: I’m trapped in a room with no doors or windows, effectively with no way out. I have a bag of 10 spells that can perform any task, provided I roll high enough. How did I get out? I used one of the spells to create an exit. This got him mad, because he had based the campaign off of another one he had done with other people and the same situation had taken him 2 days to get out of.
