    I memorized it to 3.1415926535 when scientific calculators became common, but really using 3.1416 will get you to the moon with an error of only about 6 miles, so using more than 5 decimals is overdoing it for almost any common task.

    My family always pie for every meal on Pi Day made to fit the meal. Several years ago we had 3 pies (one for every meal) with an addition of seven dessert pies. Note that we have not done that since.

    Sorry, tau day is much better. tau is better than pi. If you’ve been dealing with pi in your math classes, you should try using tau instead and the equations become more intuitive.
