You either take an updated method that gets to people immediately, or you take an outdated method that if past instances suggest will never be done.

Easiest ways to send out thank you notes— post them on Facebook. Everybody will see them.

I had to take a step into modern times. When our older daughter turned 13, we allowed her to have a Facebook page. Now, for the longest time we bugged her about getting friends’ phone numbers, but she dragged her feet. The DAY she got her FB page, she had her best friends “friended” and they PM regularly. * sigh * I’m old. (For the record, we have STRICT guidelines that she has to follow, one being that we have to know who she is friending.)

All my Christmas cards for the past few years are from Jacquie Lawson…people love them.

Stick to your guns, Andy! Texting is a thoroughly uncivilized substitute for actual communication, and a leading cause of mindless rudeness.

Yes, nothing says “Thanks” like a Hallmark card with a message written by a total stranger. Personally, I’d rather receive a phone call. Doomsday predictions about the lost art of letter writing aside, I find speaking, even over a phone is much more personal.

Texting is cheaper anyway, and saves on waste, because let’s face it; ninety percent of those recipients are just going to throw out those hardcopy thank you notes.

Saying emoji instead of emoticon is kinda lazy too. :p (seriously, is there actually a difference?)

    Andy is out of touch.

    1. While electronic communication is faster and easier, it does not imply that one is lazy.

    2. Making an e-card, say, with the help of JibJab, Hallmark.com or any other online greeting card service requires effort and expense – but it’s way more fun and very personal.

    3. Paige said thank you for her gifts using the medium that her friends and peers all use, texting with emoji. Try using emoji in a text. It’s fun, but I can tell you, it’s not easy….

Copy and paste them, it’s much simpler!
