Peter: Nice Hobbit costume. Jason: Thanks. I'm pretty sure I'll be the best Bilbo Baggins at the theater on Friday. My suit is perfect...my walking stick is perfect...my pointy ears are perfect...my hairy feet are perfect...the only thing I'm worried about is this replica "Sting" sword I bought on clearance. Peter: Looks good to me. Jason: How it looks isn't the problem. sword: Ev-ryyy breaaath yooou taaaaake... Jason: I'm guessing there was a slight miscommunication with the manufacturer.

Hmm. I was wondering why any ‘Hobbit’ accessory would be on clearance already.

The stalker song that is sometimes played at weddings. I can see how Jason could use that in the future. Play it in Paige’s room while she’s trying to sleep from somewhere she can’t see, for instance.

Well, after he is done being a Hobbit he can be Prince Valiant and his Singing Sword.
And “The Hobbit” is an eight hour snooze fest, not a three hour one, albeit broken into three movies. Additional background material about Gandalf’s research has been added from Tolkien’s appendices and the period between the death of Smaug and the forming of the Fellowship has been filled in.

I found the book, “The Hobbit”, a delight to read and “Lord of the Rings” simply impossible for me to get through. The best part of the LotR movie for me was the wonderful synopsis of “The Hobbit”. (It was pretty much the only part I liked.)
I’d like to see an unpadded version of “The Hobbit”. Tolkien designed the book so that the story wouldn’t interrupted by optional background info, no? I say “yes!”.I won’t wait for the proper DVD though; I’m too curious.

If I could afford to, I would convince my sister to go to a midnight showing of The Hobbit.

The manufacturer lives in a time warp.Dune bombed as a movie.

I would have thought a ‘Sting’ sword would play ragtime.

I’d order mine from the Noble Collection. Their LOTR/Hobbit stuff is almost as good as the props used in the films.

My Jr. High Eng. teacher introduced us to JRRT’s world in the late 60’s. No movie can compete with your imagination of that world. While a movie may come close to some people’s imagery, they are usually too different from most other’s. Nothing I have seen in the trailers looks “familiar” to me. I like “my world” better, because it’s the one I picture the author seems to be describing to me.
