Transcript:
Peter: Whatcha doing? Jason: Writing the next installment in the "Song of Ice and Fire" series. Peter: The "Game of Thrones" books? Jason: Yeah. I heard the author likes to take his sweet time doing them, which gives me an opening. Book five just came out last month. I figure if I can quickly publish a fake book six, I can sell millions before the real one finally comes out and people catch on. Dad won't mind if I use the photocopier at his office, will he? Peter: So what's your version going to be about? Jason: Well, that's the tricky part. They're already announced that the title will be "The Winds of Winter". Peter: "Whooosh...whooosh...flurry flurry whoooooooooosh..." Jason: This is just a first draft, mind you.

Ah, the entrepreneurial spirit of the young. Jason’s going to make a killing on a start-up someday.

A little short on plot, but he sure knows how to set the mood!.I don’t know what he wants the photocopier for. He’s on a tight deadline — he should stick with e-book format.

Jason’s been sued too many times to count. He never learns.

At the rate Martin’s going, the series will have to go on hiatus while he catches up with it.@Night-Gaunt49 – that’s “copyright”.

I love great openings. “Tom. No answer”, “it was the best of times”, “In the beginning” Would it be copyright infringement to start my next book, “Where Waldo?”

I miss the daily dose of new Foxtrot comics. Considering the less stressful life of Sunday-only Mr.Amend I guess he won’t go back to the past and give us our daily dose.Well, we are happy you are still here Mr.Amend.

I’m sure Jason could do a better job with his fake version. The last book could have used some serious editing.

You are so right jeffc42. I think Martin has chosen the same greedy path as Jordan and Goodkind: Produce page after page of skillful prose in which no significant issue becomes resolved.Martin could have (along with the above two authors) perhaps produced a literary work that would have rivaled Tolkien in the annals of fantasy fiction. A shame that, in my opinion, they all chose just to drag out the story to sell more books.

Just finished book 4 last night, starting book 5 shortly. I’m just scared he’ll pass away before finishing the series.

Only the first 3 books are good. Book 4 and 5 are just rabbiting on and on and on………. I don’t really like the series anymore, but just want to know what’s happening.

They shoulda hired the non-aging cast of Foxtrot to act in the HBO series. Sure, it would be a travesty, but it would be better than watching certain cast members trying to play ten-year-olds well into their early thirties…

Sigh, it seems like Jason will NEVER learn.

First page and you still haven’t identified Paige as the villain? You’re slipping!

I don’t think there’s any way to make money off Game of Thrones fan-fiction. The lawyers would have made my Star Trek and Pokémon crossovers impossible.
