Liz, I hate to tell you but you’re a minor and your family is going on a month-long trip, you gotta go with them. Mike, on the other hand, is an adult with a job. Suck it up and try to make the best of it

Mike has that dreamy look in the final panel that says he is going to enjoy have his girlfriend over without having to worry about his sister bugging him.

Oh, he won’t be alone! The family will find that out when Rhetta’s pregnancy test returns. ;-)

Mike has already been out on his own.

Yeah… you might even meet an interesting male adolescent with common interests…

No way would I allow that butthead to stay alone in my house for three weeks.

To me, Elizabeth does look like she has an attitude. That’s my opinion, the way I see it, it is the long and the ‘snort’ of it!

As a college kid that’s home for the summer, and has a job, he’s a built in house/pet sitter.

Methinks this will be her last family vacation.

When I was 13, the folks moved to Buffalo.

In the last panel, Michael could easily look like he was (heaven forbid) stoned. (I’m just kidding, folks…)

Would that my parents had done that with my brothers 50+ years ago, when they wouldn’t leave them home alone to play tennis (I suspect neither of them could drive), so we didn’t get to go to the Grand Canyon. Yes, I remembered for the next 20 years, when I took my first Stateside trip with a friend—to the Grand Canyon.

That’s how I felt when the roommate went out of town for a few days. I usually got some serious housework done at those times.

Elizabeth you should have gotten a summer job so you would now have an excuse to stay home.

Common sense doesn’t work in comic strips or with teenagers.

And he’s just dandy with that.

And he already knows how to party from college. Lots of possibilities.

That would be funny if John said that Megafood called and Michael is not needed; thus he can come on the trip with them.
