Just on what has Michael been spending his grocery store pay cheque all this time?
Missed your chance to grab the keys back, Dad.
Geez, John, if he has done this before, I think you’d wise up and hold the keys, have him give you the cash before turning over the key. If he says he doesn’t have the cash, put the keys back in your pocket.
Panel 1, a question for science experts. If you loosely hold a board like that in one hand and you try to pry a nail that is stubbornly stuck in the board with a claw hammer, what is likely to happen? Will the board swing up and smash the father in the face?
It seems "de rigeur " for cartoonists to depict teenagers as lazy and selfish.
Not all are, y’know!!
Just feed Michael a large bowl of beans. That will fill him up with a lot of gas. And then he could go and have a rooting-tooting night out on the town with all those beans in him.
My neighbor deliberately kept his gas tank on empty so his teenage son wouldn’t use it.
Watch him run out of gas!
Unreasonable request, the station wagon likely has a 20 gallon tank so if it is 1/2 full that would be 10 gallons at say $1.25 gallon which would be about $25 in 2022 $. Why would dad have the keys in the pocket of his work jeans?
I never got to drive my dads car, I left home before I was old enough to drive.
Sure, but you can’t have the car next time until you fill ’er up from last time.
Michael is to gasoline what Wimpy is to hamburgers.
Remember Mike, with a tank of gas you get a discount at the car wash. . . .
I think Mike will stick to sponging in the driveway from now on.
Same old problem: no spine.
Michael is a fast talker with a quick exit.
Typical Teenager, nothing to see here. Move along, move along.
This is the time of Bidenflation and Trudeaunomics.
“Michael, NO” “Get your a$$ back here NOW.” Simple really, John. You ought to try it.
And the cat’s in the cradle and the silver spoon
Little boy blue and the man in the moon…
I know the feeling, I had friends that would borrow pickups and they never seemed to be able to stop and fill the gas tank ….. the worst of it was I had accounts at all the local gas stations ….. all they had to do was stop and gas them up on my account …. :(
But how do you expect a teen to have a 100 bucks to fill a tank?
