    It’s amazing how a character can become so vibrant (I didn’t wanna use “vibrant”, but it fits and I can’t think of the other word I wanted) in such a short time; within the space of a few panels, actually. I can’t decide if Holly is an overly-caring person or somewhat lovestruck. And the uncertainty adds to my appreciation of what might’ve been just another two-dimensional comic strip mouse.

    I gotta say, Aaron, since discovering Endtown (and devouring the archives), I’ve grown to fully enjoy this little world of yours, with all its various characters and humor, depth and hope. And beans.

    The character development in this strip is great. Holly is turning out to have a very interesting personality.

    Bronkster, I agree. It’s nice that there is no clear direction forward so I don’t feel like I can miss a day. I was never imagining Holly was more than an unimportant waitress.

    i understand where the doc is coming from, but in that last panel, Wally is clearly getting comfort from Holly. whether or not he knows she’s there, on some level he does.

    That…Doctor reminds me of Lionel Barrymore (Dr. Gillespie from the Kildare films).

    Never saw the Kildare films, I was thinking Pernell Roberts as Trapper John.

    I was thinking Hugh Laurie from House.

    @Bronkster: I’m very glad you’re enjoying it.. and, honestly, relieved.. The kind of feedback I’ve been receiving has put me more at ease with a stretch of narrative that’s rooted so heavily in emotion. I agree that Holly is vibrant, and I’m not saying that to give myself a pat on the back as her creator. She practically writes herself. Maybe I’m channeling my own muse. :-)

    @david: Thank you! :-)

    When you find yourself missing the Great Waste, the helping hand of a mousy little waitress is the best medicine.

    Holly is a sweetie, isn’t she? I wonder, though, how Allie is going to turn out. She is a bit too kind (albeit tough) to end up face down in a glass of booze.

    Great job, Aaron!

    Keep holding his hand, Holly. It doesn’t cost anything, and could greatly help his healing/ recuperation/ will to live.

    Arron Neathery: I have to ask, are you channeling your own muse, or your own mouse. ;-)

    Anyway keep up the good work.

    When my brother was in a coma on his deathbed, I think it was talking TO him and not ABOUT him that brought him back.

    I think Aaron said in an earlier comment that the doctor was based on Milburn Stone from ‘Gunsmoke’…… This is getting to be the comic I look forward to reading the most…..
