Obama’s greatest failing is his inability to learn that trying to compromise with the Republicans is a losing strategy. You’d think he’d have picked up on the idea when his health care plan was gutted in favor of the insurance industry, yet still didn’t receive a single Republican vote.Yet once again he’s suggesting compromise…meanwhile Boenher is swearing at and threatening other Republican House members, telling them to ignore their constituents and vote only as he tells them to vote. How are you supposed to compromise with a party like that, Mr. President?
If Obama was buying a house from a Republican, he’d start by offering about 20% more than the asking price, then asking for a counter-offer. And the Republican would refuse whatever he offered, because any offer from him is toxic to them.

^ Stupidity seems an impenetrable barrier to logic, OR compromise.

From where I stand those open to compromise don’t have the leadership clout to get the others to shut up and get to work in it.
