A person needs some measure of self esteem to care if they are physically in shape or not. I don’t see how this man could possibly have any because in the 3 decades worth of strips I’ve read his wife has done nothing but tear him down. Like today it’s apparently too hard for her to offer him even a little encouragement! (Sorry I know it’s just a comic strip!)

You do have to commend his lung strength if he’s able to eat a (Dairy Queen?) Blizzard through a straw.
