So she’s mean, or doesn’t want to talk to gamma either but feels obligated so tricks him into doing it.

She probably talks to Gramma all the time, but finds this is the only way to get Ralph to call her. Notice his comment about how she does this all the time? Bazinga!

I hate Skype too. When I talk on the phone I like to pace around the house, wash dishes, and make faces when needed (while maintaining a cordial tone of voice, of course) and Skype doesn’t afford me that freedom.
