Does that mean she won’t be sleeping over tonight?
Troubles in Paradise. Diplomacy is reccomended.
And she quit having shoulder straps on her top, too. Making it a tube top.
Eh … If you did fire her, Mike, she’d be all “How could you do this to me?” with the same results. Doonesbury’s “Kobayashi Maru.”
Sophie had her choice, Mike gets his!
Mike should maybe have talked to her?
If Mike fired all of Kim’s friends, does that mean that the 149 remaining coders aren’t Kim’s friends? That means that if he’d instead fired fifty of those coders, everything would be as well as could be reasonably expected. Like I said earlier, he should have brought her into the loop right away. Oh well.
Did she change tops in panel 3? That’s a way to punctuate an exit!
Now he doesn’t have to fire her. Nice.
Totally 100% predictable.
No offense, but I saw that coming. It’s hard to be the last man standing.
Are they currently married?
Wimpy boyfriends are even easier to find than jobs for good coders.
Bad move Kim. If you are let go you can claim unemployment, when you quit it’s much harder. Thought she was supposed to be smart?
doesn’t he end up marrying this whatever?
Story of my life. No matter what I would do, it was the wrong choice.
Don’t dip your pen in the company ink.
So not only did he show a lack of personal integrity, he also doesn’t have faith in her skills (assumes she can’t get another job). Of course she’s going to peace the f right outta there. He’s going to have to work to make this right.
I too once chose a job over a woman, who coincidentally was Korean and named Kim (although Kim was her last name). It was absolutely the worst choice I ever made in my entire long life.
Bad move…Mike assumed she’d be grateful that he “chose” her…definitely should have talked to her first…
I’m glad I’ve read ahead.
I knew that was gonna happen.
How is it self-respect to choose your girlfriend at the expense of someone else? Self-respect means that you do the right thing. And it’s not to choose your girlfriend over someone else.
No good deed goes unpunished. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
He just kicked Kim in her self-determination. Very bad move.
My friend who was promoted to manager and given the assignment to lay off everyone in the department solved the problem by quitting himself.
No right answer, dude.
Dude shoulda just walked out the door in the first place.
Actually, firing Kim might be a good move for both Mike and Kim. First, we are given to believe that she’s a super-programmer, and probably would have no trouble finding a (probably better) job elsewhere. Second, this would remove Mike&Kim from any charges or suspicions of favouritism or nepotism.
She should’ve been first then maybe she could’ve helped her friends getting the news. Whoops. LOL
