I don’t want to go out on a limb or anything, but how about a hoary old belief system that’s worked for millions since about Galileo’s day? It’s called “science” and does require a little more personal work than some of the more modern predictive systems, but it has an incredible track record in terms of not letting you down if you do the exercises every day or two.

Lara Trump is the new messiah coming out of the blocks, they want her to replace Richard Burr (NC) who had the good sense to vote to impeach the demon. Nasty repubs stab their own in the back if they don’t toe the dishonest line. Shut them down in whatever way you can Joe, take away their dishonest media, hold them to account for all their corruption, jail them for their insurrection.

What about the failed Rapture of 1988? (40th anniversary of the founding of the state of Israel.) Rapture isn’t Biblical idea. Comes from a young girl with a fever who announced it came in a vision from the Holy Spirit while she was sick. The Irvingites, and then J.N. Darby picked it up and started trying to read it into Bible. And the whole mindset that made it possible was was a piece of Jesuit propaganda by Manuel Lacunza (writing under a fake name) which was intended to show Luther and the Reformers were the Anti-christ. Some Protestants swallowed the lie, but turned it on its head and identified the Pope as Anti-Christ.

A little something from another apocalypse-watching site:

“According to Isaac Asimov’s Book of Facts (1979), an Assyrian clay tablet dating to approximately 2800 BC was unearthed bearing the words “Our earth is degenerate in these latter days. There are signs that the world is speedily coming to an end. Bribery and corruption are common. [emphasis added]” This is one of the earliest examples of the perception of moral decay in society being interpreted as a sign of the imminent end."

Here’s one scheduled for before Biden’s [first] term is up:

“Anytime between Now and 2023 CE – Former BBC TV host and minor league music producer Ian Gurney popped his cork in a Biblical way about a decade back. From that point on, he started fixating…on cobbling together whatever bits and pieces he could find from the New and Old Testaments, CNN and some 4th grade “Science Can Be Fun!” books to bolster up his notion that the world will end no later than 2023. Before that happens, though, we should be kept quite busy with an earthquake in California…the death of the Pope…world famine, nuclear war and the pasting of NYC with a mega-tsunami."

As it says in the New Testament, “Watch therefore, for thou know neither the day nor the hour”. I am quite amused at those who periodically predict the apocalypse (or, just simply the end of the world). People have been doing that since the first millennium back in 1000 CE (Common Era). There is nothing new under the sun.

If you think this is just a joke, be aware that there are literally “boiler rooms” like this where people are misdirected to “donation counselors” who will assure them that their money will go to support the completely, insane belief system of their choice.

People who continually fall for lunatic conspiracy theories really are just this pathetic. Even more “normal” con games should never suck in any people who can tie their own shoes by themselves. Yet I read in my morning paper that Josh Hawley (Fascist-Mo.) is contemplating a White House run—and apparently has at least a fighting chance. What, Li’l JOSHIE??!!!! He is without question the biggest crybaby in all of Congress (which, of course, means that he is the biggest crybaby in the world). He is, was, and always will be notoriously dishonest but until recently his dishonesty was more like the usual lying and bribe-taking. Then he turned traitor on January 6th, 2021……..

Of course, all of those prophesied calamities were delusions or scams, except for the Mayan Long Count. I regret that insufficient credit has been paid to Alley Oop for having averted that one at the last minute. https://www.gocomics.com/alley-oop/2012/11/11 through 2021/12/23

I am reminded of the classic scene in Little Big Man where the chief Old Lodge Skins decides he’s gotten too old and its a good day to die. He goes out, lays down, prepares himself, and closes his eyes. After a while, he opens them and asks:

Old Lodge Skins:Am I still in this world?

    Jack Crabb:Yes, Grandfather.

Old Lodge Skins:[groans] I was afraid of that. Well, sometimes the magic works. Sometimes, it doesn’t.

My basic question is why dig up Trump only to bury him again… and again… each Sunday? You have developed plenty of story lines.. why continue to kick the fat Politician down the road? It is boring and childish.. and beneath you.
