Women (especially young, inexperienced ones) will often overlook a fellow’s glaring personality flaws if he has some other outstanding appeal factor. Good looks, sex appeal (not necessarily the same thing), wealth, excellent career prospects, artistic talent, smooth talking…but it appears our young fellow has none of these in sufficient quantity to over come his jerkness.
When I went back to college after the Air Force in 1970, I joined the campus Veteran’s Club. My fellow veteran friends and I made jokes about BOTH jocks and frat-boys.
