Move over, Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un — Trump has found another love interest (a third geopolitical wife?) for you to share a bed with (apparently high-fiving Putin is cool with that).

Yes, it does matter that Mohammed bin Salman’s murder victim was a JOURNALIST — the foundation of our free press and First Amendment. Trump calls the press the “enemy of the people” and “fake news” reminds me of Hitler and Goebbels calling the press the “Lügenpresse” (“lying press”)

Trump DOCTORED a video to make a journalist look bad

Trump praised a candidate who had been convicted of body slamming a reporter

Trump defends DICTATORS who MURDER journalists (Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong Un and Mohammed bin Salman), says he believes them over his own intelligence agencies and joins them in waging war against journalists.

    The others kill journalists.

Trump “merely” bans them, but he dreams of the day when he, too, can follow in their bloody ways.

Nothing new here. Change Mohammad Bin Salman to Daniel Ortega, Manuel Noriega, Omar Torrijos, and many more. A time honored tradition of American Presidents.

This entire presidential piece of history has been one long ‘lost our way’. Usually, we want a feel good administration. I seems like now we are looking for an ‘okay to feel bad’ administration. It is like the entire country has gotten its cranky license. I am not a fan of ‘Politically Correct’ but I am highly in favor of being ‘polite’.

The right-wing Evangelicals love Trump and his buddies. You would think they would be able to make a few biblical references and know better, at least every once in a while. “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.” Proverbs 31:8-9

Trump likes the war criminal MBS and the war criminal Putin for what are (to him) valid reasons: he gets a lot of money (to launder) from the Saudis, and he gets both money AND his marching orders from Putin!

Ordinarily I wouldn’t bother refuting the sheer raw idiocy of GiggleSmith, but when he/she/it says “The Donald [what is he/she/it, Ivana??!!!] didn’t con anybody”, I can’t help it. All Trump has EVER done is con people. He lied (conned) about the amount of money that he got from his crooked father—amounts orders of magnitudes more than he pretended. (No intelligent person was surprised by the expose’ of that, of course.) He lied (conned) his three (so far) wives. (Then again, maybe they DIDN’T think he would keep a sacred marriage vow, anymore than he would keep his oath of office…..) Trump U. was such an obvious con that he settled for a wristslap of $25 million because he knew for SURE that he would lose his case. And, of course, Trump conned his voters, pretending that he would ’drain the swamp" of special interests (when any intelligent person knew that Trump and his cronies would be elbowing each other to slop at the public trough), and pretending that he cared about the working class and the middle class (when any intelligent person would know that his decades long documented history proves he is AGAINST them, not for them.) Next thing you know, Trump will pretend to be his own publicist…..oh, wait, never mind.

In Kansas City the other day (though Trump was so out of it he thought he was in St. Louis), Trump lied (conned) far more than I have space for here, yet this one (from the Kansas City Star’s refutation of his lies) is especially funny: Trump 4. Heroin coming across our Southern border “cost our country $238 billion in 2016 alone, and we’re talking about a wall for $20 billion, $15 billion … You’d make it up in a month by having a proper wall. ”Three days earlier, the president said we could make up the difference in two months, so maybe wait and see what next week will bring?A study out of the University of Chicago last year found that heroin use cost us as a society about $51 million in the last year for which data was available, 2015. [talk about orders of magnitude……..]And it’s hard to see how the wall would stop heroin from being smuggled in from Mexico when, as noted in a Drug Enforcement Administration report last year, most comes in “through U.S. ports of entry … in passenger vehicles with concealed compartments or commingled with legitimate goods on tractor trailers.”

According to HuffPost, Adam Schiff said recently that trump may likely face jail time as soon as he leaves office due to his illegal shenanigans leading up to the 2016 election. The payoffs, the treason, the illegal gifts, etc. How ironic that he kept calling for Hillary to go to jail over nonsense that had already been thoroughly investigated and been absolved of. Psychologists call this projection.

Egads. Name calling each other and “us vs. them” is all the politics anyone can bring up still. Hey, if it’s wrong for one person or party then it’s wrong for all. And as for the person in the comic today, and I’m very surprised no one including GT has said it yet, “No MoBS!” Its about time we all just said no thugs in our house.

Maybe I just don’t remember it, but I don’t recall Nixon ever whining about whether or not anyone tried to go after Johnson once the drums starting beating for the Nixon impeachment, not that he didn’t try to fight it. No, I didn’t admire Nixon, but he was at least smarter than that.

Economics makes for strange bedfellows, and it is national economics (and a bit of international politics) that has Trump in bed with Saudi Arabia. It’s certainly not love for MBS, whom he would drop in a heartbeat if the Saudi king wasn’t so blind to the fact his son and heir-apparent is a viper. Problem is, the US is trying to strike a difficult balance between national self-interest and justifiable (but self-indulgently feel-good) righteous outrage. As Charlie Chan once said, “Getting in bed with viper, no guarantee against snakebite!” My inclination is to go with the outrage and get out of bed.
