I thought Zonker was a big fan of “Rocky Mountain High.”

Let me guess: #3 will be liberalized drug policy. Never did find out, was MacArthur named after the illustrious general or the park?

Duke used to shoot icicles off Denver’s roof with a high powered rifle

Burn all John Denver records?Huh… would’ve thought Uncle Duke would be a fan of ""Rocky Mountain High"

There were several strips with JD’s voice singing “Rocky Mountain High” off-screen. In one, Duke was sitting on his porch waxing poetic about the joys of living in the mountains. The song refrain drifted into the penultimate panel, with Duke then saying, “Honey, hand me my shotgun.” I’m sure it’s in the archives somewhere, but I couldn’t find in the few minutes I had to to look.

Does nobody care about the poor, incarcerated Mondale voters? It may have been a crime, but surely should carry a short sentence.

i’m thinking this strip came out before 1997, when denver died while testing his experimental plane off the coast of pacific grove california:

Yes, this strip came out long before john Denver died, of course. A couple decades before. How cute to talk about a conflict between Humphrey and Mondale. Especially since they were so similar. Those were the days.
