with rescue / shelter dogs we often don’t know their real birthdays. I like to choose a holiday and decide it was their birthday

Used to be a favorite trick of my friends telling the waitress it was your birthday and some kind of impromptu cake ordered and of course that embarrassing birthday song by the waitresses.
