Sorry to be pedantic but the sun has 4.5 billion more years as a main sequence star before it expands into a red giant. 4.5 billion. It’s barely middle aged. Go ahead and make those long-term investments.

Actually, the projected burnout will be in about 4.5 to 5 billion years. But earth will become uninhabitable before that happens.
