Sophie has a license to thrill.

This is our dogs. The oldest, Nessie, will sit there and stare at me the entire time I’m doing something with her collar. The baby, Pippa, will keep putting her paws up on the footrest, just in case I’m finished with hers, and Cindi Lou, the middle one, will lie where she cam look at me over her shoulder with a betrayed expression. My recently deceased loving wife and I had cats for the entire time we were together (35 years) and stopped putting collars on when one of them almost died from getting stuck by the collar. Even though they came out with the break-away cat collars we never trusted the cats to not be cats. We did use break-away on our Chihuahua because they were “cuter” and safer for them and when we walked them we used a harness anyway. All of the dogs we ever had would run around whenever we removed their collars as if that was the only thing holding them “down”.

Our third Sheltie hated wearing a collar. He learned how to unbuckle it, and regardless which way I put it on him, I’d find the collar discarded somewhere— in the back yard, behind the couch.
