Serious question here from someone who has never lived with dogs. If done correctly, is there an actual problem for the dog, caused by having the nails trimmed? Or is more like Cats and getting a Flea Bath? No way to make the cat enjoy that one.
Clipper face, vet face, dewormer in the dog treat face, spay face. Hey, it’s face time!
I leave it to the professionals.
Be brave Sophie. It’s easier to climb up on the counter without the point bits on the end of your fingers.
Our 2 long haired cats get knots, they hide from the brushes and clippers
My son’s Bassett hound howled like he was being tortured when his nails were being clipped.
But Sophie, you’ll be more stealthy when your nails aren’t clicking on the floor.
I took my dog for a bath once, and was asked if I wanted her nails clipped… I said O.K.but then I was forever waiting till they said she was ready…. way longer than they said it would be! …and the poor thing come out limping, leaving blood spots!! I wonder how long it was bleeding too much for them to bring her out!
Our current dog wouldn’t let us or the vet techs clip her nails. A groomer has been able to do it with a nail grinder instead of a clipper — and lots of gentle patience.
