Whiskers can be pretty hard to see especially in the dark, plus if Brian drew them then it might have detracted from the value of the cartoon. I like it the way it is.
My mom’s Bassets used to do this and drive the neighborhood crazy. They did their “choir practice” at 2 in the morning, until mom would drag them inside.
