Brochures make colourful kindling.
I read: A lot of companies brag about their work culture. Hey look at us we have a game room, you can have fun while you work. Then the next thing you know your boss is like “I see you spent 3 hours in the game room last month, we’d prefer you came here to work instead of play.” So then they have a game room that nobody uses.
Apparently it’s bad in Dilbert’s company if you leave before the boss does, just like it is with the companies in several Oriental countries. :/
Mmm, all that waxy goodness!
MLM’s; just a hair’s breadth away from a pyramid scheme.
The competition eats, drinks, poops work.
just knew it wasn’t Wally or Dilly….!
How sneaky of you, Asok! Nice to see you get started on the MLM with Dilly, though… :)
I never trusted a work place that tried to hard to make it homey. It usually meant they were making it easier for you to spend way to much time there. Now those are the good old days. Now, we literally are at home and at work at the same time.
Isn’t this the point which PHB smashes his head with a ball bat ?
Read Heinrich Böll’s ‘Action Will Be Taken’!
I refused to work for companies with that kind of a culture my entire career (quit a couple because of it but mostly avoided accepting job offers from them). I lead a happy long and financially successful career with several companies over the years. It can be done.
Edible wax fruit? Ooooo – I want in on that especially if it is at the ground level!
For weeks I was on a multi-company project in Texas, sometimes working until midnight. After three weeks, I had to chance to see an old girlfriend for dinner. The uber-boss hinted that he would be very unhappy if his contract failed because I went out and had a good time. He was 10% kidding. At that point, I was 90% not caring. I went out and had a nice time. The project was fine.
I hate micromanagement so much, the door hits me on the a** on the way out
Edible wax fruit? Is it supposed to taste like … fruit?
And yet they still wonder why so many are not returning to work, post Covid and the end of unemployment benefits.
our company made a lot of noise about allowing us to join them in decision making…
when all was said and done they passed out a page for our input in naming the aisles!
Want to have a little fun? Start logging your uncompensated work hours.
The PHB knows about what Asok was doing because he’s the District Manager for the Ponzi scheme.
I worked at s place where they hired a new CEO. He had a large “all-hands” meeting during which he said something like: “I expect you to all be devoted to the company. If you’re not working weekends and late hours, you don’t belong here.”
A lot of people (me included) knew they no longer belonged there.
Asok the Intern “takes one” for the gang!
Doesn’t really matter. There’s not all that much of a market for edible wax fruit….
