One of the best story bits is the one where you are asked to sign all those papers (like buying a home) and someone sneaks in the one where you donate your classic car to them. Wally is a known liar, PHB is right to be sure they’re all the same…

Proving him wrong shouldn’t be all that hard.

About 8 years ago I worked with a renowned consultant that used fax and could not make a PDF file to email me. A savant about computer memory design oddly enough.

Let him be, Wally. In fact, make some more copies so he’ll have more to proof. It’ll keep him out of your um, your … … … um, … beard!

Sounds like a supervisor I had years ago who insisted we make copies of anything we faxed “so we wouldn’t lose it”.

Some times I find it easiest to just remember that I am getting paid for every minute the “boss” wastes my time.

Wally is only aggravated because the PHB is keeping him from getting a cup of coffee…!

Back in the 1950s, my dad. a Chartered Accountant, had an apprentice, who would add up the figures separately in each carbon copy.

Now even Wally is right. PHB is digging a deep hole.

We used to hide Senior Partner’s red pens for this very reason. True story.

There is a story in the quality industry about a test technician who received a work order to “100% test” thousands of fuses. He tried to explain about sampling but his boss overrode him and told him to follow the order. The infuriated technician filled a 50-gallon barrel with blown (100% tested) fuses before wiser heads prevailed.

Well what do you know, it’s Wally’s turn in the barrel.

“Boss Disequilibrium” – I will have to remember that one.

Look at the bright side, it will keep him busy enough that he might leave you alone for a while.

As a former proofreader, the final panel has long been one of my favorites. It held a place of honor on my refrigerator for many years.

Don’t sweat it! Proofing the photocopies will keep PHB busy and harmless for the whole afternoon, Wally (check with Dilbert and Alice while you wait)….!

It’s amazing how Wally managed to make the Same 5 Mistakes on each and every one.
