You’d want your subordinates wasting your time with petty problems PHB as opposed to employees that have the gumption and wisdom to solve them themselves?
Must… control… FIST OF DEATH !!
Instead of going over his head, you should have trampled over it. Head trampled under foot.
you might want to reconsider.
No good dead goes unpunished. Just collect your paycheck and update your resume.
will Alice now join Wally working at the lower performance level…?
So what we all learn here is that the unsqueaky wheel doesn’t get any grease.
Senior Partner once complained that I had not included him in my streak of jury trial wins and that was making him look bad. No bonus for me that year.
It doesn’t hurt to occasionally throw such a boss a couple of “softball questions”. Unfortunately, if he tells you to “steal third base”, you are in a no-win situation.
“The benefit of a doubt.” Hmm. Betcha he also says/types “cut and dry,” “for all intensive purposes” and “She is yet to ask me a question.”
Logic is so cool.
I once had a pinhead boss who dinged me on a performance review for exactly this reason. “Sorry, you’re too self-sufficient, no raise for you.”
And of course PHB gets credit for all the difficult issues he didn’t solve.
How about “PHB is too stupid to be of any help to anyone, ever”?
And how about the good old FoD?
