Scott was spot on in his characterization of dorks in spandex. I’ve been riding an hour a day for over 20 years and I just can’t help laughing when I see the weekend riders making fashion statements in their fancy duds. In almost all cases, their bikes have those tiny…. anatomically incorrect… seats that, for some inexplicable reason, are the standard for new bikes. How they can ride on them is beyond me but they do, and I suspect they are causing themselves permanent harm in that very fragile region. I can only conclude that they view more comfortable seats as inconsistent with their image as “pure” cyclists. Go figure.
