The three “founder’s” portraits are taken directly from Jim Doherty’s “Tracy’s Hall of Creators” panels on successive Sundays during the 2011 80th anniversary of the strip. They are:
Chester Gould, the real founder of the strip, who drew it from 1931-1977
Rick Fletcher who assisted Gould from 1961 and became the lead artist from 1977 until his sudden death in 1983
Dick Locher, who assisted Gould from 1958-1961 and became lead artist form 1983 until 2011 (although Jim Brozman was the main artist from 2009 to 2011)
Someone recognizes Blackjack, even with the disguise, and apparently appreciates the display.

On behalf of the people of Southern California, I’d like to thank Canada for renting out your Super Scooper firefighting aircraft. We didn’t get much use out of it because the fire season was weak, but that’s a good thing, of course. The plane took off for home yesterday during a break in the weather. (We had a lot of rain Tuesday.) Anyway, thanks again.
(A Super Scooper is a prop plane that skims water from a lake and then drops the water onto the flames at very low altitude. It’s dangerous work.)

3-Sir? Guests are not allowed a “closer look” at the exhibits. I understand everyone’s desire to put a finger through one of the bullet holes but I believe you can understand how that would ultimately destroy the integrity of the original. Also, I’ve seen commercials on TV for medicine that will fix that thyroid related bug-eyed appearance of yours. You might want to look into it…
Blackjack was drawn to the Tracy memorabilia like a rat to a trap. They should have had a Tracy exhibit the day after he escaped from prison. He would have never remained on the loose.

I certainly get the tribute to each artist of Tracy, but who are these “founders” supposed to be within the strip? Founders of what? This exhibit is supposed to be about Dick Tracy, put together by the Mayor, or a team of people she commissioned to do the actual work. And it is quite recent, having just been set up at the Library. What was “founded” by these gents whose pictures are on the wall?
Someone has outed Blackjack in short order! Is it one of Tracy’s “eyes,” such as Sam or another member of the MCU (Lizz, Lee Ebony, etc.)?
Or is it someone from the darkside, such as Richard Bonhomme, or maybe even one of the spandex-wearing cards in civvies?
And how will this play out? Does Blackjack’s disguise include a gun (or two)? Would the two opponents, in whatever case, risk a shootout at the Gould Library when civilian others are likely to be present? I don’t think Blackjack would if he believed he could avoid it, nor, I think, would an MCU detective risk firing the first shot in an area where “collateral damage” was a prospect….
