An “idea” gag I’ve never seen before. Congratulations, Samson (and/or Horace)!

They should give Samson an award in the shape of a box with a bulb on the outside. This is an ideal award for someone who is continually thinking outside the box and even draws his strips the same way.

This is also why one never remembers anything they were going in for, after passing through a door.

Panel three – Horace has a new way to gallop. Maybe next year he could win the Triple Crown.

I hate it when my good ideas are shattered on the floor

Back in the late 60’s, Ford had an ad campaign using a light bulb with the slogan….“Ford has a better idea!” But then in the 90’s they came out with a model they called the Ford Probe. I guess a young person came up with that name, because every time I think about a ‘probe’ I think about my first colonoscopy…..which was right about that time. NOT a good idea!:-)

Could it be that Horace got the idea to go green and is getting rid of his old “Edison” bulbs…!

With the lack of transoms over the door.. a lot of good ideas never make it past the threshold.

If it’s a CFC bulb you should probably get a hazmat team to clean up the mercury. :)

Might want to work on improving your memory. Then you won’t need to hurry to write it down.

The idea lasted as long as the ‘energy efficient’ lightbulbs.

In the days of Lewis Carroll, and many before, folks used to carry a little memorandum book where they could jot down every passing thought. One of those from a great thinker or artist is a precious relic and a glimpse into a fine mind. You can use a smartphone, but that works better for schedules and shopping lists than for musings.
