Once again I’m happy to tell you that, a little under 10 years ago, Richard posted a blog entry about this strip:
Another strip’s author ran this that day
oh, how Dill wishes he had his growth spurt now
Now I know what Dill’s older brothers look like.
WOW, I’m gonna start eating paste!
Talk to the knees!
Alice forbidding height-related make believe, ha
I’ve never seen this one before (love when that happens) but it is open to interpretation. Is Dill standing on his tippy-toes trying to look tall but we are seeing Alice’s much-exaggerated view of it? Or are we seeing what Dill thinks he looks like when doing this? I’ll go with the latter as Alice’s eyes never look upwards at Dill – always straight ahead.
A reporter wanted to interview General Tom Thumb, the famous midget. He went to his hotel, got the room number, went up, and knocked on the door. An eight foot giant opened it. “I’m sorry, I was looking for General Tom Thumb, the famous midget.”
Time for Dill to mosey on over to the Peanuts world – everyone there has big heads!
BUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hiya Happyx3!!!! :)
Tall Dill is going to infest my stress dreams for weeks… The sticky… so very sticky…
Richard Thompson has a special piece of my heart. I miss you.
Quiet disillusionment —> surprised trumpeting —> consternation—> angry admonishment —> honest assessment (Dill, quiet delighted compliance) —> uneasy concern. Richard Thompson —> simple brilliance.
Dill’s imagination has The Power! Even Alice can see what he is imagining!
