Poor Kevin. Dyslexia is nothing to be ashamed of but still must be a blow to learn you have. To learn you have any disability or inherent difficultly or whatever would be a lot for a kid to process
The very best thing about this condition is that it has been identified, and ways to work with/around it are available. So much different than in my day (1950s) when so many of these conditions were not identified, never mind understood. BTW, if anybody’s into rom-coms, Jennifer Crusie’s “Bet Me” has three MMC with various conditions who “make it” in the business world.
I had two friends who had dyslexia. Both worked at dealing with and overcoming it. They both became voracious readers. One became a respected editor for a large publishing company.
I like this doctor. He’s actually trying to be helpful to Kevin. I know some dyslexic people that are very intelligent and try their hardest, but their teachers aren’t helpful!

Very very hard to get out of school, Kevin.

Quite the opposite indeed. Did years of speech and reading classes for my Dyslexia and I still have problems

Panel 5 was to have been Kev’s reaction. All I’m getting is an “X”

Still – Kev’s expression in Panel Three…

This is a major milestone in the comic strip.

So, how exactly can one determine a student does have dyslexia and they’re not just looking for a excuse to get out of school and goof off?

On the up side, there’s a very good chance that Kevin is a demigod ;)

I have a question. Does dyslexia mess with numbers, as well as letters ?
