Hubby and I had 2 Thanksgivings. One with family Over the weekend before T-day where it was OK to experiment with the cooking. Everyone was gracious and accepted less than 100% perfection. Then on Thanksgiving we feasted with friends. I was to bring pecan pie. I decided I best go buy a nice pie. Wasn’t going to experiment with friends who were nice enough to invite us to their family gathering.
It seems to be a rule that you can go day after day cooking and baking with no problems, but cook and bake for company or a special occasion and it will be a disaster every time.
Thanks for the really nice belated Thanksgiving gift. This is such a great strip. Should be in print papers so more people could enjoy it. Love and peace to all.
My late Sister-in-law ALWAYS did Thanksgiving, and always asked a dozen “extra people”, and always had tons of left-overs to send home with us….UNTIL one year when 7 people had other plans fall through for different reasons.
I especially like that Gene, the host – the one who’s having to give – is giving thanks. The opportunity (and ability) to help is something to be thankful for, too.

The Wallace’s and the Beeckhams are a family and this strip tells us just that.

Another reminder of what Thanksgiving is about and another day starting with a smile because I’m reading Crabgrass.
